Old buildings, bare floors and bonded screeds will not fulfil noise control demands of the future, compliance with which is largely possible only with additional building measures. The Thomsit-Floor® Sound Damping System, with integrated Premium Damping Underlay for living areas, is a practical solution for both old and new buildings, improving the footfall sound damping by up to 27 dB. This exceeds existing standards and represents a massive increase in walk-on comfort.
Substrate preparation
The system can be used on any substrate ready for laying.
Footfall damping
Under textile floor coverings Thomsit-Floor® TF 404 4 mm Underlay can be laid loose. Under sisal and coir coverings, carpets with jute backing and repeat pattern coverings, full surface bonding is necessary.
Bonding coverings
Use Thomsit T 410 Aquatack® Carpet Adhesive. With the appropriate textile coverings, a removable covering can be constructed using Thomsit DT 200 Quick-Lift® Webbing.
