Substrates not cleaned of waxes, fats, chemical residues, old paint, coatings and dust; sulphite liquor and bituminous adhesive residues; soiled terrazzo slabs and artificial stone floors ... a list of substrates that invariably require costly and time-consuming preparation before laying can start. There is nothing for it but to grind off, shot blast, burn off, steam clean, de-wax, clean off and start afresh by building up the substrate from scratch, priming, filling, or even adding a moisture barrier? A quicker solution: Thomsit TF 201 Sheet Membrane, the substrate straight off the roll.

 

Substrate preparation

Thomsit TF 201 Sheet Membrane plays a leading role in the system – dimensional stability, aging resistance and suitability for castor traffic guarantee a long service life. The profiled underside ensures mechanical separation from substances that impair adhesion. Low emission and neutral odor characteristics make it the very latest in environmentally friendly flooring products. In addition, it also insulates and dampens footfall sound. Proven footfall damping with 2 mm PVC covering: 14 dB according to DIN 52210.

Thomsit TF 201 is generally laid loose and the floor covering bonded over its entire surface. Simply roll out with the profile underside! Roughly cut to shape and let it settle, to make sure the covering lays tension-free. Abut seams and tape the underside with adhesive band to secure against slippage.
