Rapid Renovation System – PVC on PVC

Removing worn PVC floor coverings, cleaning off adhesive tracks, brushing and vacuuming off the substrate, priming and levelling off afresh all cost both time and money, not forgetting the time and use loss for the client, and the cost of disposing of the old coverings. With the Thomsit Rapid Renovation System, PVC on PVC, conversion proceeds cost- effectively and quicker. This is because the system prepares the old covering as a substrate ready for laying the new. One vapor-tight layer bonded on top of another – yes, it really works! And it is also suitable for castor traffic.

Substrate preparation

Check if the old PVC floor covering is ready for laying. Where necessary, reattach loose coverings and clean thoroughly with Thomsit PRO 40 Basic Cleaner.

Bonding coverings

Apply Thomsit K 188 E Special Adhesive with a notched trowel or roller.

Can be made conductive if required

Clean the PVC service floor with Thomsit PRO 40 Basic Cleaner. Install a barrier layer using Thomsit FF 69 Flex-Finish. Produce a transverse conductive layer with Thomsit R 762 Conductive Base Coat (replaces copper grid). Bond coverings with conductive Thomsit K 112 Special Conductive PVC and Rubber Adhesive.
