Often old CV floor coverings contain harmful asbestos components and, if firmly bonded, they are almost impossible to remove. Due to the health hazard, they cannot be removed without resort to special safety measures. The invention of Thomsit FF 69 Flex-Finish, used for levelling uneven surfaces and as a plasticizer barrier, has resolved the problem of laying CV on CV: the old covering is prepared as the substrate for the new, avoiding the risk of exposure to asbestos, no difficult waste disposal and no hazard to health.
Substrate preparation
Thoroughly clean off the worn, ready for laying CV service coverings with Thomsit PRO 40 Basic Cleaner. To level off surface relief patterns use Thomsit FF 69 Flex- Finish.
Bonding coverings
Use Thomsit K 188 E Special Adhesive, touch dry (see Technical Data Sheet).
