Floors in industrial and commercial buildings are invariably subject to high or even extreme loads. Rubber floor coverings are used when high loading stress has to be reckoned with. But even these coverings can only be sure of delivering success if the substrate is so prepared as to meet the full range of the demands expected of it.
The Thomsit Rubber Industrial System is built around components tried and tested in practice, and based on a product- specific material, namely polyurethane. Reliable bonding of components with each other and with the substrate is also assured on concrete floors with excessive residual moisture.
Substrate preparation
Mechanically clean the concrete floor (preferably sand or shot blast), vacuum off and prepare with Thomsit R 755 Epoxy Membrane as two coats to seal against excessive residual moisture. Finally sprinkle with quartz sand.
Floor levelling
Use heavy-duty Thomsit SL 85 Special Purpose Levelling Compound.
Bonding coverings
Bond rubber coverings with Thomsit R 710 Polyurethane (PU) Adhesive.
